WISCONSIN SHOOTING--> WHO WAS THE ACTUAL VICTIM.??

August 5th 2012 was just another day for many of us around the world. But to the one's present at the Sikh Temple in Oak Street is was a day they would never forget.A gunman entered the gurudwara and open fired at the devotees. Six of them died and the gun man shot himself dead after being shot in the stomach by the cops.
Hell broke lose on the media channels, social media , internet updates along with various article being written .People jumped to quick conclusion as to who the obvious victims were and who was the cause of the outcry. As the time passed the news faded away from news channels , social media , internet and this was as expected. But among all the hue and cry , sensationalism and heated debates we missed something that was between the lines. The million dollar question "Who was the actual victim ?? "
The six victims killed included one woman: Paramjit Kaur, 41; and five men: Satwant Singh Kaleka, 65, the founder of the gurudwara ; Prakash Singh, 39, an assistant priest; Sita Singh, 41; Ranjit Singh, 49; and Suveg Singh, 84  is the most apt answer to this seemingly lame question. But lets have a look at the ACUTE ANGLE OF THE STORY.
These six followers of sikh faith had a respectable life which they loved. They took active part in their community. They always helped others and were always surrounded by the feeling of love, trust and faith. On the day they sacrificed their life they had a purpose to save other live and to face death while protecting their holy temple.Their life bought them love and respect and their death bought them admiration of the whole world .The admiration such that Barack Obama (the most powerful man on earth ) asked for US flag to be flown at half suite for 5 days. Among the community it created a way of respect for these six martyr and the entire World community payed their respects to them in different ways.
The other end we had a story of a potentially amazing soldier who end was not the was he perhaps had ever thought. Before he committed  the crime he lived a life of hatred in his heart. He was a part of the ARMY but was demoted and the given general discharge for misconduct.Nobody today is aware of why he exactly did it but he did have a heavy heart for a long time.  Wade Micheal Page  ended up being a victim of this hatred. The last bullet which he used to shoot himself was when hate totally consumed him. Wade who could have gone on to do his army ,family and friends proud someday was the victim of this hatred which someway had sadly found a place in his heart.
Forget those news bulletin for sometime and with a calm mind and soul ask yourself who was actually the victim , the six martyrs who lived , died for thier faith and were respect and admired for the same world over. Or, was it this gunman whose last bullet of hate consumed him. You will get an answer which was until now hidden under the sensationalism.

A REALITY CHECK NAMED....INDIA...!!

Vote bank politics, Scams with each letter of the alphabet , lack of security to women , educated youth flooding the Visa offices to get the their destiny stamped, the second most populous country in the world and the judiciary being the biggest mockery of democracy which perhaps doesn't exist anymore. Is this the India our ancestors had set out to achieve when they fasted unto death , put to gallows at 23 . Is this how they wanted the nation to shape up or have we just lost the way somewhere... ????
Judiciary is the true mirror of any democracy in the world but it looks as if we have decided to look the other way.Imagine a young guy/girl getting up in the morning with hopes of a great day .The only simple mistake you can make to ruin that is either switch on any (I really mean any) news channel or pick a newspaper and you can read everything right from the new scam, crumbling economy, political unrest and the list goes on. If you have already decided that you have nothing to do with country in near future all this wont effect. But if you are among those who believe "I want to give it back to my country " then all this will surely hit (and hit you very hard). Imagine the plight of the youngster who wishes to make it big some day on this very soil and for this very soil. But literally by endorsing corruption (directly or indirectly), by encouraging this dog-eat-dog culture , big power games with very small or no sense of long term vision we are building a new generation which will perhaps start to believe that this is the way things are done and there is nothing wrong with it. Is this the same land where Buddha, Vivekananda and many other saints choose to impart the spiritual and moral knowledge to the world. Are we set out to create shrewd manipulators who control, cartel and lobby or do we wish to create a India where talent, knowledge, equal and healthy competition is giving good value. I know we all wish for the latter but the truth is we are creating a perfect environment for the former manipulative class to grow in size and quality.
If we just look at three things in a short way we can figure out a lot.Firstly politics, India today is building and budding exceptional politicians . I repeat politicians and not statesmen.Region,Religion,Economic class is being divided and we are being ruled. There is vote bank politics which the politicians are famous for and development politics which the states believe in.India is building the former class here too .National issue were once a pride to die for (Bhagat singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru). Today we are ready to take life (of our Indian brothers ) on national issues.
Secondly its the judiciary which is supposed to protect right of the people and instill faith of the people but delivering nothing else than justice. But the judiciary has now become a process which only the rich can afford. Honestly ask yourself  "Can a man with hardly any money afford justice in a quick way ?. We all know the answer and this shows how the judiciary has failed the common man. This is how perhaps more crime is born in different forms .We should look at our own self before pointing fingers.
Lastly, the Media which is more into TRP, sensationalism, breaking news, heated debates. Yes the TRP is important as it is the bottom line. But, sensationalism is not as necessary as being portrayed . The most important fact is free , un-biased media reporting to and for the people and being authentic to the issue as well as answerable to the nation. We are loosing that too with each day.
The point is we are moving at a very fast pace and bottomline is extremely important but nation building and integeration of the people is equally important. Accepting our loopholes and overcoming it is the only way out. Its too noisy around us but more noise is within us. We are moving , or perhaps surging ahead .We surely have come a long way but is someone even aware of the direction.??
